MISSION COMPLETED! #RideWithRio Challenge

AIM:

The goal was for Nick & Rio (person with disabilities) to cycle together with inclusion, 100kms everyday of June, to cover 3,000kms

ACHIEVED:

Together they cycled every day of June, covered 3,077kms in 140 hours; equivalent of cycling Dubai to Istanbul, Turkey

Daily, we got up at 2.15am to start at 3am; Rio was probably the only person that got up everyday with the biggest smile & full of happy enthusiasm for what was ahead; he truly loved it; he was in his happy place!

Nick pushed 85+kgs (weight of bike & Rio) for the daily 100kms, in the June heat; it took them averagely 4hrs 45mins, everyday; some days were windy, some humid, we had 6 punctures, 3 ripped tyres & a broken rear wheel - it was hard, it was testing, it was long BUT the goal was achieved & Rio is happy, we can’t ask for more!

We had lots of people join us; THANK YOU to all those that got up early, shared their time, energy, company & motivation - very grateful to you all!

Some days it was just Nick & Rio, solo ride - it’s been a time of great reflection!

WHY DO THIS?

  • To show the possibilities of accessibility & inclusion

  • Opportunity for community to sponsor our Team AngelWolf: 'WolfPack Impact Talks’ for schools, so that schools can receive & hear a journey of inclusion for free

  • To motivate others to create their own challenge for health & inclusion

Number of Impact Talks for schools sponsored so far: 10 (the goal is 20)

Sponsorship is open to end of August; for more details on how to sponsor towards a TAW School Impact Talk (as an individual or company; starting from only 50AED), please go to:

Sponsoring towards a TAW School Impact Talk, will:

  • Allow us to offer the talks to schools for free

  • When schools receive the Impact Talks, it helps to spread the mission & awareness about community inclusion further

  • It assists TAW to be able to continue providing FREE inclusive activities for the community

THANK YOU to those that have sponsored towards a Talk already; we are very grateful.

We are desperate for a lie-in but the biggest question…what time do you think Rio will wake up tomorrow!?
