Last weekend we participated in the Snow Run by Ski Dubai and Dubai Sports Council
Nick, Rio & Tia did the 3kms race - that was 3 times up & down the steep slope of snow in Ski Dubai. The slope length is 400m, the black slope is at a 35 degree angle & from top to bottom is an 85m elevation gain (equivalent of 25 story building); the temperature inside is regulated between -2 & -4C.
Nick & Rio did it together with inclusion; Rio was strapped to Nick’s back, all 50 kgs of him, plus wrapped up warm in thick clothing layers & boots!
It was physically challenging & demanding for them both but also great fun … Rio had a big smile for the whole time whilst gripping on tightly - a mix of a sensory fulfilment & sensory challenge in one go; he was definitely happy!
The Ski Dubai team were amazing - very grateful for all their support & accommodating our requirements so that we could participate with inclusion.
It was wonderful to see the Dubai Sports Council team there - we are always grateful for their kind support & encouragement!
600 participated in the race; full of positive, fun energy & community spirit (saw lots of snow ball fights at the end).

Tia ( @_little.x.wolf_ ) loved it! She had been waiting years to do this race, as Nick & Rio had done it before quite a few years ago when Rio was younger (lighter & smaller!), but Tia was too young to do it then, so it was on her bucket list of races! She will be back for the 5kms next time!
It was a great race & very well organised; we can’t wait to do it again, as it’s wonderful to do something different!
A big THANK YOU to the organisers of the event for embracing 'inclusion' & enabling us to take part in the race as we did, this truly helps to spread the mission message of TAW with Inclusive Impactivity further.
Thank you to all the volunteers involved in the race, that make the races possible & safe.
Thank you to all the other participants & supporters at the event, for the continuous support in cheering Rio on.
